Help to identify these components from HP-3081a
I have a couple of old HP-3081a terminals I purchased more for the components than anything else. I am not aware of any schematic which is available and was wondering what these two components are. Are they a pulse transformer perhaps. The photos show the same component on both terminals, one in a sealed package, the other open.
Any help appreciated. Cheers Richard |

RE: Help to identify these components from HP-3081a
PE is Pulse Engineering, a company that makes (made?) pulse transformers so I would say your guess is spot on.

RE: Help to identify these components from HP-3081a
Hello!

So I did a little search on my own. The company is actually called "Pulse Electronics" (https://www.pulseelectronics.com/) and they still make many kinds of signal transformers. I entered all the numbers shown on the component in your picture into their search window, but nothing gets found. If you search for "PE-6" you will be shown lots of parts, some of which resemble yours - at least from the outside. However I would imagine that these components are the last to fail, unless struck by lightning. There is nothing inside apart from some coils of copper wire and a ferrite core. Regards Max |
