RE: Retrotronik RAM card for HP 48GX
These cards all appear to be out of stock and not orderable on the website. I sent an email over a week ago and haven't received a reply.
Has anyone managed to buy one recently or been able to contact the supplier regarding when stock will be available again? Thanks, dmh Calculator Clique on YouTube |

RE: Retrotronik RAM card for HP 48GX
I just bought 3 128kb cards about a month ago (first I bought one and then the other two). The 1 and 2mb were in stock the first time but I wanted to check if it would work. They were out of stock the second time around (bummer). I messaged him on the order page - I received the cards but no answer to my message.
Finally one of the cards is acting weird (losing data inside the calculator). I messaged him with no response. I’m hoping he is on vacation or something because I want to buy more. |

I just received an email back from them. They were on vacation and will continue to produce the cards. Maybe we should keep checking their website.

FYI, I've had no response either for some time.
Long trip maybe. Although someone did get a response after my post above so who knows. (10-29-2023 08:50 PM)rdarlington Wrote: Month and a half later and still unavailable, and no response to my email several weeks ago. :-( Calculator Clique on YouTube |

RE: Retrotronik RAM card for HP 48GX
Has anyone bought from or had contact with Retrotronik recently? All the cards have been out of stock for some time and I haven't had any response to emails requesting an update on expected restocking.

RE: Retrotronik RAM card for HP 48GX
It's a real pity that the business no longer appears to be selling new stock as it was a great product for a reasonable price. When I last ordered @rprosperi was in regular contact with Retrotronik.
Maybe if the chap realised that there's a reasonable number of customers looking for new cards he might be convinced to build some new stock. With luck Bob is still in contact. I'd certainly be up for 3 or 4 new cards as I've had zero problems with the 128k card I got from him last year. |

I will see if I can reach him, but it has been so long that it appears this may have been abandoned. I agree these were great products at a very good price, it's a shame if if the venture didn't work out. I'd suggest he charge a bit more if that made enough difference to sustain the business, but I suspect other factors are involved.

I've got a 2mb and a 128k in my GX, and I've acres of space still available. But I've got a ton of Sparcom Cards and suchlike I fancy exploring, but you have to treat those like Meta Kernel and commit each memory card to an ISO style burn. |

RE: Retrotronik RAM card for HP 48GX
I was able to reach Retrotronik and have good news!!
They were unable to produce cards for a while due to a pick and place machine that was damaged, but this has been repaired and now they are waiting on labels and upon arrival, of 128KB and 1MB RAM cards will become available again. The 2MB RAM cards are still a future project so no clear timing on when this may become available. The 128KB and 1MB cards should be available soon, I've asked for a more clear date and will share that when I get a reply. If you have contacted Retrotronik in the past and remain interested, please contact them again and let them know your current interest (e.g. how many of each type you want to purchase). If you have contacted Retrotronik in the past but are no longer interested, please contact them and let them know to cancel your previous request. If you are newly interested, please contact them and express your interest. Now that they are gearing up once again, it's best for you and them to have fresh information on what to produce, rather than having to dig through (and possibly miss your) old emails. --Bob Prosperi |

RE: Retrotronik RAM card for HP 48GX
I don't mean to hijack the topic, but I've always wondered: Is there a particular reason why RAM cards are still being made / in demand instead of FRAM cards? The latter seem superior to me without the battery requirement.
FRAM cards were available from an eBay seller for some time, but (unfortunately) I missed my chance to buy one. |

RE: Retrotronik RAM card for HP 48GX
I was lucky enough to find an HP48GX recently (after owning an HP48G+ for a while) and I've been looking for RAM cards for it. Finding this thread with very recent news of restock fills me with hope.
I've seen so many cool programs that couldn't all fit in the 128KB of my G+! Just the idea of finally having them all together makes me extremely happy. |
