definitive list of cases for each model calculator
Second hand calculators tend to come with whatever case someone can find, if any at all.
Unless you bought the model new it's hard to know exactly which cases go with which calculators and I'm guessing there may have been a few options for some models. Is there a definitive list of calculator models and their cases? I've had a look through the museum articles and you can see a some of the cases but can't tell for sure which are the same (similar colour but are they the same size etc). For example: - are the cases for the 35, 80 and 45 the same and what does it look like? - are all Classic cases (except the 67) the same? - are all Woodstock cases the same? - are all Spice cases the same? I have lots of calculators and cases I have acquired and some are different for the same series so I'd love to know if they are correct alternative options or have just come in whatever case someone could find. HP-35 red dot has a double stitch case
I once got a dark brown case embossed HP with a paper sticker inside: Made in USA and marked #33. Size is about the size of woodstock cases but thinner material - similar to spice cases. I have no idea which calculator (if for any) it was made for. |

RE: definitive list of cases for each model calculator
Some cases mix and match. I have a black leather case, which I believe was originally for either the HP-35 or HP-80, but fits not only the HP-65, but also the HP-41CX (as long as the card reader is not attached). I suspect that the leatherette Classic case will also fit the HP-41CX without the attached card reader, as well. I think, but cannot confirm, that there are a few other combinations that will work just fine, solely on the basis of how close the exterior dimensions of the calculators are.
Just going from the description, the dark brown case sounds like a Spice case, and the 33 is probably referring to the HP-33E or HP-33C. |

RE: definitive list of cases for each model calculator
I just want to add that HP PDAs also came with (leather) cases with an embossed HP logo.
That could confuse the issue. 10B, 10BII, 10C, 11C, 12C, 14B, 15C, 16C, 17B, 18C, 19BII, 20b, 22, 25, 29C, 32SII, 35, 38G, 39G, 39gs, 41CV, 48G, 97 |

A spice doesn't fit inside (ok, maybe press fit), spice cases are wider and longer and have the teddy bear lining inside. Right = spice case, left = #33 - inside view in first picture |

- Due to the 10 pictures limit per post this is a multi-post reply - Here is a list of HP cases for HP calculators built from my observations over the years. I may have made mistakes or missed some cases or some variants. (most pictures are from my own cases, some are from eBay) Classic: |

RE: definitive list of cases for each model calculator
BOOKMARK!!!!
Thanks very much Didier, this is an amazing post to have so many cases notes, photos and details all in one place. I'm traveling but when I get back I have some small notes and possible additions and will likely send them to you to add here if useful, rather than adding another post 'down below' so the reader has to scroll around of go to new pages. This post took a huge amount of time, effort and care to create, and I want to share my sincere thanks for all of that to create such an interesting and useful resource! THANK YOU! --Bob Prosperi |

RE: definitive list of cases for each model calculator
Hi all,
A nice collection of photos indeed. I could also add a few more as I have some cases that are not listed. If necessary, I will take pictures and publish them here. If you want to replace some cases with others, check out the Samson Cables website (https://samsoncables.com). In addition to various cases, you will also find other matters that may be of interest. I hope this has helped those who need a new case (or something else). Sincerely, Karel. I use HP-16C, WP-34S emulator, HP-35s, HP-48GX, HP-50g, and HP Prime G2. |
