Hi,

I've got a Sharp PC-G850VS and would like to attach a DC PSU to it to eliminate batteries. Does anyone else do this?
I tried Google translate on the text that is on the side of the PC-G850 next to the DC socket but couldn't get a translation. In the English manual it says that it's a 6V input and the adapter is an EA23E, but that is an 8.5V adapter. I've dismantled an 850V and it's tricky working out where the wires from the socket go as they are under a plastic sheet stuck to the PCB.
So, does anyone know what the voltage, current and polarity of the DC socket is?

I'm only using AAA baterries in my G850VS, but I think that the English manual is not accurate on this point. The 6V DC is the voltage from the 4 AAA (R03) batteries, and the recommended AC adaptor is the EA23E as we can see in the Japanese manual:

Excellent, thank you. That confirms that it is an 8V5 supply, or maybe 9V, that should be OK. Looks like centre negative as well. Looking at PSUs on sale that are supposed to be replacements, at least one is centre positive.

Just tried with 5V and 7V, both worked, tip negative.
