RE: New HP calculator literature site
Remarkable, sites like these not only help keep the UPN calculators alive, they are also indispensable for most people who are interested in the topic.

My calculators - former: CBM PR100, HP41CV, HP11C, HP28S - current: HP48G, HP35S, Prime, DM41X, DM42, HP12C

Great, there are books I never heard of before. Thank you very much.

Is there a chance to ever get the TPPT-file which is need for the hp-71
TRANSLATOR PAC PROGRAMMER'S TOOLKIT ?
I only found an old threat from 2008:

RE: New HP calculator literature site
Wonderful, and so simple: the HP-71B connected to pyILPER with the help of the PILBOX, your file TPPT.lif integrated, PURGE FTH41RAM and COPY TPPT:1 TO FTH41RAM entered on the HP-71B and the FORTH words described in TRANSLATOR PAC PROGRAMMER'S TOOLKIT are already available. First I tried it with STACKS: instead of "Not Recognized", the stack and the floating point stack were listed immediately. Thank you so much Dave.

RE: New HP calculator literature site
When you examine the TPPT words, you'll quickly discover that this package is directly derived from the Forth words provided in section 21, "Forth Utilities" in the the "HP-71 Software Developers' Handbook", which is a seminal and essential guide to learning to use Forth on the 71. Though I had never dabbled in Forth before the 71 (and so leaned on "Learning Forth") the nibble-based implementation is different in a lot of ways from Forth-83, and examining the source for the new words in the Forth Utilities sheds a lot of light. Similarly, when exploring the new words in TPPT, the analogous source files are very helpful.

I hope a clean scan of this mamual eventually appears here. Looks like a very useful source of information.

I have a like-new copy which will be sent to Eric to scan and add to his awesome HP Literature collection as soon as he has caught up with some others already in the queue. It will be added for sure.

The Software Developers' Handbook is part of Sylvain Cote's HP-71B COMPENDIUM. At the end of part 4 you can download a good scan and a zip with programs.

Thanks Klaus, I forgot Sylvain's Compendium includes this. Nevertheless, I'll send it for Eric to scan, odd OCR and include on his sight to make it more 'discoverable' (to use the trendy vernacular...).

Yay! Thank you both. I was only aware of the museum copy - I should have remembered Sylvain's Compendium!

For what it's worth, I also contributed a copy to the HP Computer Museum.
