Casio fx-4800p, anyone know this calculator?
I wonder if anyone here has some info on the Casio fx-4800p?
It seems to be 4500 steps of program memory, but i can not find any hands on reports on the net on it. Only the manual i find.
Is it a later machine in the fx-4000p/fx-4500p line?

I have one. It's sort of a follow-up to the fx-4500P, and has a similar programming language (i.e. a bit different from the fx-4000P, which became the basis for the graphing calculators). You use = for assignment rather than the "STO" arrow, the calculator automatically prompts for undefined variables (use FixM and {} to alter this behavior), and it has a rudimentary if/then/else sort of structure.

The fx-4850P is basically an fx-4800P with more memory. 32 KB, I think? The fx-5800P is the current model in that line, but it has a programming language more like the fx-9860G line (which I prefer over the fx-4800P style). And I like the fx-5800P enough to have two of them - it's a great science-and-engineering calculator!

Yes, the 4850P has 28500 steps instead of 4500.

Then you are in luck, since the fx-4800P is basically an upgraded fx-4500P! I'd recommend keeping an eye out for the fx-5800P too - it's the ultimate evolution of the fx-4000P line.

I've just got a fx-4800p for not much at all. Will be fun to test and use when it arrive!

Got it today, seems to be a capable machine, with a nice menu system!
The keyboard seems pretty good, and the display is fine, but a bit faint.
Is the a way to turn up the display contrast?
