Prime CAS noob question
How do we persuade the Prime to tell us ln(1+i) is symbolically equal to ln(2)/2 + (π/4)*i?

RE: Prime CAS noob question
evalc(ln(1+i)) --> 1/2*ln(2) + i*π/4

RE: Prime CAS noob question
Thanks, Albert.
Is there no flag to set in preferences so the machine does not force a user to dig through a glossary of magic functions? I am sorry to say, I found a simpler way. See the attached. Bill |

RE: Prime CAS noob question
In CAS settings, if a user checks the "Exact" box, and the "Complex" box, and checks the "Use i" box, then the machine really should automatically respond with ln(2)/2+(π/4)*i when a user provides ln(1+i) as input.
