I much prefer reflective LCDs and handheld computers & calculators that let me go months or even years without thinking about the batteries. That was also my reasoning. The display has such a good contrast that you really don't need backlight. I'll share a video soon to show the display in action. |

RE: PX41CX
That’s a valid argument.
Is the contrast still good in low-light conditions? I’ve read somewhere that the SwissMicros DM32-41X-42, which have generally fantastic contrast, are not so good in low-light conditions. At least, white letters will remain easily readable. Jean-Charles |

Just a photo to compare the screen brightness between 3 calculators...
In your opinion, which one do I prefer ? http://ti58c.phweb.me http://clones.phweb.me http://www.instagram.com/ti58c "No! Do or Do not. There is no try!" [Master Yoda] |

RE: PX41CX
Hello,
I think I will also be placing an order for this. New, smoother buttons, 4-line display ... what more could you want? |

RE: PX41CX
I don't think the picture is being fair to the HP-41, as it is not being held at the normal viewing angle. My own HP-41cx's definitely have better contrast than that, but I can make them fade out a little bit like what's in the picture if I tip them to the angle the picture was taken at.

RE: PX41CX
The contrast is indeed impressive.
However, I have now another nitpicking remark: I find the coma and the dot on the display very small! I think that it should be improved. I also hope that the firmware will be easy to upgrade. Jean-Charles |

RE: PX41CX
Yes, a slightly reduced font would be better. I think the dot should have at least the same thickness as the lines in the characters.
Also, reducing slightly the height of the font would increase the space between the lines, which is currently very small, and allow a more prominent comma. Jean-Charles |

RE: PX41CX
What I have just noticed ... Is the display shorter? It doesn't go all the way to the right edge of the cut-out.

RE: PX41CX
I would very much like to be able to protect/backup/restore the memory contents of your hobby calculators, is that anything that might be in the realm of possibilty? Even if it's just for the PX41CX it'd be really nice.
