The new PX41CX has a serial port, with a serial to USB cable you are able to dump and restore the contents of the calculator.

It is also compatible with Swiss Micros online decode and encode utilities.

My interface is also compatible with HP41 emulators and the original HP-41C/CV/CX via Barcode.

After many delays and many bugs all the parts for the PX41cx have finally arrived.

Checkout Pierre's beta manuals.

I am still working on the assembly instructions, but in the meantime, if anyone is interested in acquiring a fully hand-assembled unit, please contact me.

Like dmh, I've been using Alex's excellent PX41CX daily for several weeks now and I really like it too.
Whether it was 4 years, 4 months, 4 days... it was worth the wait.
Soon a new manual (in French and English) will allow the most skeptical to estimate the latest improvements.
Alex did an amazing job again.

I know I know.... it 'feels' like it's been 4 years!

But finally, yesterday the first batch of PX-41CX units were shipped.

I've set up a webpage with assembly instructions and basic information on using the PX-41CX at paxer.net/px41cx.

Assembly was quite easy (I'm nearly 70 and I could do it).

The buttons are superb.
The LCD is bright and crystal clear (no pun intended)
The speed, even running at the standard 16mHz is very good

I had a real HP-41C in the '80s, this is SO much better.

I'm almost 70 years old too (1955) and I've never known how to do a clean weld... Alex does them better than me!

I received the PX41CX I purchased this week and want to say I am very pleased in every way, it meets or exceeds all the expectations I had. Aldo, it was delivered only 2 days after shipping and Alex tells me it's often delivered in 1 day, so no frustrating wait to explore the newest machine.

The only thing I've tried so far that it doesn't do is turn-on the running clock display after pressing [shift] [ON]. Initially, I was confused about why it doesn't do that until I noticed that it doesn't do so as it's not needed, since the Date and Time is always shown in the header line, along with battery level.

I've not had time yet to install my own preferred module configuration (with LIB4/OSX, Advantage, ZENROM, etc.) but I've read the docs for the super useful utility Darren released and looks simple to use, even for complex and/or custom mutli-bank modules.

Everything I've tried so far works as expected from a 41CX so I can add to all the positive reports and feedback so far and look forward to checking out more of the small, dark corners.

Recommended for all 41 fans!!

Congratulations on your purchase!

The PX-41CX is truly fantastic and the ability to choose which modules to install is a real plus.
Alex suggested that I prepare the configuration of several firmware packages with different modules, a bit like different menus at a restaurant.
These different "Hex" files will soon be available for download.
So don't hesitate to mention which choices of module assemblies seem most interesting to you.

You can still XEQ CLOCK to get this if you want it like the original and in a bigger font (than the status line).

The PX-41CX is fast too, as shown in the NQueens 8x8 FOCAL results below compared to the DM41X.
