HP22S right column of keys dead
I bought a 22S (mostly because it was rather cheap) just to find out that the rightmost column of the keyboard does not work.
I read some instructions how to open Pioneers but am at a bit of a loss on how to actually fix that row of keys. Hints are appreciated. |

RE: HP22S right column of keys dead
Just below the display there is a foam pressing the keyboard flex PCB contacts onto the main board. Overtime this foam ages and doesn’t press enough to keep good contacts. You can check that this is the issue on your 22S if you can get the right column keys to work by applying some pressure under the display.
The fix, after opening the calculator, is to replace the aging foam with a new one. Original grey foam: New foam: Detailed repair instructions (in French) here. |

RE: HP22S right column of keys dead
if the foam doesn't solve it, you can find among my posts the repair of the keyboard of an HP-27s that had broken tracks. There is the problem of the plastic rivets but I have adopted a working solution.

RE: HP22S right column of keys dead
Thanks for your help! (I have already established that pressing on the area below the display helps.)
