IR Remote Control for 50g?
Was there any Infrared Remote Control software written for HP 50g?
Looking through HP Calc 49/50 Comms Software pages, there doesn't seem to be any. |

The IR emitters of HP calculators use a 32kHz carrier for printing, or IRDA for calculator-to-calculator comm. It _might_ be possible to hack up some ARM code to get a 50g to modulate IR at 38 or 40 kHz used by remote controls, but it probably wouldn't work well, as the IR emitter in the calculator was deliberately chosen for low power, not high IR intensity. |

It was also designed for limited range (unit-to-unit, less than 1 foot apart) to discourage the ability for cheating in academic situations. --Bob Prosperi |
