Lapalce Transform Fails on Calc but Works on Emulator
When I try to do a simple Laplace transform like laplace(exp(t)t,s) I get an error showing Adaptive method failure - trying middle-point Romberg method. which locks up and I have to reset the calculator. The emulator on my PC works fine, though.

Works fine here. You on the latest version?

I should know better than to ask this, but where can I DL the latest firmware from HP?

Found the answer to my own question in the connectivity kit. Update to version 6030, but still can't do the forward Laplace transform without locking up.

Did you check if your variables s and t are free? (purge(s,t))

IMHO, the approved and safest method should be the one you have used - install the connectivity kit and check for new updates for the connectivity kit, and for for the physical calculator as well. Additionally, there is a FTP portal at this link were one can download the software components manually (copy the following url in full to your preferred Internet browser): ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/calculators/Prime/ Please make sure your calculator is updated. Procedure to check it: - Power Off. - Hold down C+F+O and then press On... and wait until it powers on into the diagnostic menu. - Select A. Version info And the output should be like this: EA656 Version Info DATA Version: V0.032.6030 OS Version: V0.032.6030 Released Version: V1.04 PCB Version: 00 Touch IC FW Ver: 26 In case of trouble, please check this link: http://www.hpmuseum.org/forum/thread-1463.html Jose Mesquita RadioMuseum.org member |

RE: Lapalce Transform Fails on Calc but Works on Emulator
Cleared the variables, still locks up doing the forward transform:
"Adaptive method failure, will try with Romberg, last approximation was undef Infinity or undefined point at bounds. Using middle point Romberg method. |

Did the update actually get installed? In the HELP screen, press the TREE then at the top find "About HP Prime". Inside there is the detailed version information. In the CAS settings screen, press CLEAR to reset to default. Were there any changed settings? I've been unable to see either the crash or the message you report. That fixed it! Hitting the CLEAR placed a check in one of the boxes, and it works.

Can you tell me which box? Would be nice to fix this...

RE: Lapalce Transform Fails on Calc but Works on Emulator
It's the Exact box.
The problem is not the firmware. The emulator I have uses the 2013 firmware and works fine. |

Ok, I will switch the CAS in exact mode (and call exact on the argument) while running laplace.
