HP-41CV does not power on
Hi all, I own a HP-41CV calculator that I bought brand new in the 80's. I always took great care, and the calculator still looks brand new. Unfortunately about 10 years ago it never was able to power on. I would like to "revive" it as it is an iconic model. Any trick I could try? If not, are there any steps to follow to check internals? Thanks

RE: HP-41CV does not power on
Have you checked the obvious things? Batteries oriented properly, battery tabs aren't corroded, etc.
May want to check: https://www.hpmuseum.org/cgi-sys/cgiwrap...cgi?read=2 |

Regarding corrosion I will take a picture of the battery contacts and upload it here to get feedback. I'm traveling now, but as soon as I get hold of the calculator I will post back. Thanks. |

RE: HP-41CV does not power on
I suggest you put your calculator in the hand of a specialist. Just find a local specialist. Where are you? Mainland EU?

Hope I won't need to spend that kind of money (07-31-2023 11:24 AM)floppy Wrote: I suggest you put your calculator in the hand of a specialist. Just find a local specialist. Where are you? Mainland EU?I agree, but before doing that I want to try the obvious once again, or at least see if I can identify the faulty part, if there is one. No, I'm overseas, but plan to travel to the US soon. |
