Why is x*sqrt(x) not x^(3/2)?
Please find the expeceted/obtained result in the image attached.
I am moving to the HP prime after owning an Nspire for many years, so im still adjusting. I tried searching the forum but could not find an answer. I also tried turning various simplification tabs on/off but nothing seems to work. What am I missing? |

RE: Why is x*sqrt(x) not x^(3/2)?
Both are valid. On the HP, x^(3/2) is rewritten as x*sqrt(x).

Same here, long time Ti Nspire CAS user still getting used to Prime and can't say I like what I see in respect of algebra. I am going to persevere a little longer but if it can't do what I need then I'll sell it. I esp hate that * bloody symbol between every letter and number, it just makes it so hard to read an algebraic output.
2*x*y+3*y-3*x instead of 2x.y+3y-3x |

Since it uses PEMDAS rather than PEJMDAS, if they allowed you to forgo the * symbol, you'd REALLY be confused when you got the "wrong" answers! Tom L Cui bono? |
