Which version of Windows is needed for the HP Tools (SASM.exe etc) ?
I would like to get into machine language programming on my HP48G (and HP42S), but it is unclear to me which version of windows is expected by the (granted very old) HP Tools ?
It is most certainly not working on a 64 bit Windows 10 Pro environment. So for those who can develop in ML, on what version of Windows did you install the HP Tools goodies ???? When I know, I assume I will have to make a virtual machine with the correct Windows version to run the Saturn assembler. Anyone here who knows more and can point me in the right direction ? Gert |

Seems my question was answered here:
https://www.hpmuseum.org/forum/thread-18...t=hp+tools Still need to check if that does give me the answer I seek. But that is for another day (time for some sleep). |

Bear in mind that it was originally conceived over 20 years ago, so some operating system features that are commonly used today may be missing. Debug4x has an interface that takes a little getting used to (it helps if you ever used Delphi, whose influence is pretty clear). But it comes with pretty much everything you need to start experimenting with Saturn assembly on an RPL platform (as well as System RPL and User RPL). Targeted platforms include all of the 48-49-50g series, but no HP-42 support. |
