An excerpt from The estimation of late fetal and perinatal age from limb bone length by linear and logarithmic regression, Annals of Human Biology, 7.3 (1980): 257-265

    The bone lengths of the BCH material had already been measured from X-rays by Dr. I. R. S., Consultant Radiologist to the Bristol Royal Hospital for Sick Children. These preliminary data were included and used to assess the reliability of the regression equations computed from the second, larger set of data and vice versa. Age was regressed on each of these bones on a Hewlett-Packard HP-55 programmable electronic calculator, the data being analysed both in their raw form and as logarithms.
