New Stand for 15C Collector's Edition
HP-15C CE Stand

I have created a new stand for the 15C Collector's Edition that allows the calculator to be connected to the programming cable while in use. It also has storage space for the cable when not in use.

You can use the link above if you are interested.

My Collection: 55, 67T, 25PLP, 34C, 15C, 16C, 41CV, 41CX, 41-CL, DM41X, DM42, 42S, 48G, 71B, 75C, 95LX, HP-150, Portable+, HP-86, Integral PC.

These are so cool! Dan continues to innovate and has turned calculator stands, a historically boring category of wedge-shaped blocks, into cost-effective, well thought-out and useful customized stands which reflect insights from actually using these machines. Further, these stands are beautiful and are available in a variety of colors. The only real question here is what color do I buy? Or colors??

Does not deliver to Australia :-(

Shipping might be as much as the stand if it did I guess.

The shipping policy is fixed now. I'm not sure how it got changed.

These look great, indeed.

If there are 3D-printed, is there any way to have them shipped more locally?

For me, in the UK, the item is £16, which is quite reasonable, then delivery/tax adds another £21 on top of that Sad

Hello,

The calculator suppliers come to mind, but I doubt that it will become much cheaper that way. The shipping cost will be replaced by their profit margin...

Unfortunately the huge shipping costs for (even small!) items from the US to Europe together with import duties - 19% for everything purchased outside the EU in my case - which also apply to the shipping cost, almost triplicate the end price for little things like these calculator stands.
Last year I bought a 3D printer on eBay which cost about as much as one of these stands would cost me.

Regards
Max

It looks great! A really thoughtful product and isn't it great that 3d printing allows such items to be developed and offered in small batches?

I love those Rotrings too. There should be a sign that says '

Not so fast, Bob!

This thread discussion has inspired me to update the stand design to include a pencil holder.
The new version will be available by this weekend. Wink

Whoa... I didn't expect that, I thought the (interesting to me!) discussion had wandered pretty far afield and while wanting to promote it to continue, thought it was not even reasonably close to remaining on-topic.

So, sorry if this broke your source of inspiration, but it seems you caught it just in time.

The really good news is I've been so busy I had not ordered one of these new stands yet, so now I'll wait for the improved design, as a handy place for multiple tools is just too good to pass up.

And of course we should expect debate on which pencil would go best on the new stand... Smile

So, now that cool new stand will hold:

a 15c CE (or other less inspired Voyagers)
Voyager overlays from thecalculatorstore.com
15c CE USB cable, also from Jose
a Pilot 3005 retracting mechanical pencil (or other possibly inferior models)

Hopefully, it will also accommodate the SwissMicros Voyager models, as once the DM15L f/w update with 2-line display, human-readable opcodes in PGM mode, and other enhancements is released, I expect there will be some significant new demand for this excellent stand to be used with that machine.

!? What??
But.. but.. I already have two 15CEs (one of which repurposed as a 16C), and a DM15L. I can't possibly justify another DM15L. Really. Honestly. Absolutely not. (I will have to keep repeating this to myself)

Rolling on the floor laughing at that one, indeed!!

So, Bob, should I ask this here, or in the pencil chat? What's a Pilot 3005? I tried looking it up and found very little about it online. The little I saw, it looked like a much more durable version of the Sanford Extend, the latter being a well-constructed but mostly plastic pencil. It looked like the 3005 is mostly (or all?) metal, is that true?

Is it the same as the Pilot Automat?

Yes, the new f/w will indeed run on existing DM15L devices (not yet sure about DM15 units, due to LCD differences). A few more surprises are also coming in this update, but I gotta keep some stuff quiet until release... Wink
