Voyager variants display compatibility?

From Eric's excellent summary HP Voyager Calculator Variants I understand that starting with 28xx, the Voyagers changed LCDs. That matches my observation that the display on my 28xx 11C is different from that of my older 25xx 15C. However Eric's page doesn't say whether the LCD used in 1990s three-button battery 12Cs is compatible with the 28xx USA-built Voyagers. What is known about that?

I recently acquired two 12Cs that are pretty worn but their displays are fully functional. One is a 25xx and is earmarked as a display donor for my 25xx 15C which suffers from two dead segments. The other one is a MALAYSIA 36xx in poor shape that I intend to sell for scrap and I wonder if it could at least serve as a display donor for 28xx 11C/15C/16Cs.

Well it may not answer it. Wasn't yours about Voyager LCD's and isn't that thread about Voyager LCD's?
