Need to buy agaun HP Prime and 15C for android?
Hi,

I've just tried to install HP Prime and the 15C for Android and I need to buy it again!

I notice that it is with Moravia now, but isn't it the official HP calculator app?

Does anybody know something about it?

If you bought the app once you can always download it on a device that uses the same Google account. The apps require no subscription, and they aldo didn't apply trick to force people to a new app with a subscription model that Wolfram Alpha got off (deprecate current app, push new one).

Thanks!

I downloaded a beta thanks to the link provided in the thread above. Don't know the difference.

But I think this procedure is unacceptable. This is not the HP we knew and we cherish.

Modern times.

Disappointed regards.

I'm happy that Moravia have taken on the HP emulator apps. I don't mind that they cost. So far though the features seem to be as they were before so I'll pause a bit.

Prime looks fantastic but its too much calc for me. But I'm always after the perfect 15 or 42 app. So far, the HP version for the 15c doesn't quite match others available, but could surpasses them if fully integrated with the physical Hp15c ce input and output files

It seems I had not noticed that Moravia removed the existing apps and is distributing them now again with a new application id (so for Android it is a different app now). If I want to upgrade or even reinstall on a new device I have to pay again, no way that I'll reward them for such a dirty trick.

Fortunately I saved the old apk's so I can install again on a new device but for updates (or technically, switch to the new app) it will be the piracy circuit for me now. If someone wants the old apk's please dm me.

FYI the HP PC 2012 free emulators for the HP-12C/HP-15C/HP-12C Platinum don't save files either. That said the HP-12C/HP-15C ones do save memory in the HP12CState.bin/HP15CState.bin files in the user profile. By default they're hidden (unless Windows is configured to show all files which on my boxes it is).

The latest version of Pierre's spreadsheet will open/save the above file just as it will with Voyagersave ones.

I also have the Android version of the above emulators. I assume that they also save the calculator state in files somewhere. I've never tried to figure out where since I very rarely use my ancient (2012) tablet (Android 4.1 or 4.2). I don't have a Smartphone. Never have. Never will.

Probably in the private app directory. I don't care, I root all my devices so I can make and restore proper backups.

Most likely.

I doubly don't care. I could root that tablet but there's no point as far as I'm concerned.

For those that do care, and have the knowledge, calculator programs might be importable/exportable.

I don't believe that's the intention. I was told that once the new app is ready, and contains functional updates over the old app, then existing users wouldn't have to pay again to get it. But for the moment, the new app is just trying to get the existing functionality back and accepted in the Play Store again; sorting out old existing users would follow, who could in the meantime use the old app (and transfer it to new devices).

But they seem to be having some problems with that initial step.

I agree that some official communication on this would be nice.
