RE: TI-58C Clone
Hi all.
Some insight, please. The faceplate of the ET-58 in the OP looks a bit crowded and cluttered with way too much nomenclature. Is that the actual faceplate or is that from a prototype? |

Just a 3rd function to assimilate in addition. 3 functions per key is quite usual on HP... (without speaking about the WP34S) To explain : Above the button in large characters: the basic function To the left of the button, upper text: the 2nd function To the left of the button, lower text: the 3rd function Ex: the 1/X key gives tan if 2nd before 1/X and gives tanh if 3rd before 1/X... Among the "plus" I was going to forget :
the alphanumeric display that the TI-58C did not know! To which must be added a list of 112 pre-recorded terms to help compose the texts. (OK, ERROR, Diagnose, Result, Input, Enter, Index, Row, Column, Continue, STOP, Matrix, Complex, Number, Element, Item...) http://ti58c.phweb.me http://clones.phweb.me http://www.instagram.com/ti58c "No! Very interesting. TI deserves clones as well as HP. Will buy one when available.

RE: TI-58C Clone
Hello Pierre, Thank you for pointing this out ! Nice ! And thanks to Miroslav Nemecek for creating the ET-58.
My first programmable device was a TI-57, I couldn't afford a TI-58 or 59. I had an oppertunitie to play with a TI-58 for a couple of weeks, and I still love it. So when I saw your post, I immediatly ordered a kit ! It arrived yesterday, but now I have to find the time to solder it. Luckely there are only two smd parts, I'm no hero soldering smd Regards, Marc. |

Don't hesitate to take pictures during your assembly work that will be useful to other fans. (and I can publish them on my site with your agreement!) And your comments will be welcome. For my part, being bad at electronics and especially at soldering, I can only help you with the use and programming of the ET-58. For the manual you will have to be patient... I have as much skills in Czech as in soldering... but I will know how to do it! I have already made a 259 steps program that I immediately transposed for the PX-41CX then for the HP-15C... Have fun ! Quote:Hi Marc, Hi Pierre, I will take pictures when I assemble/solder the ET-58 and post them here, and you may put them on your site. The building instructions, in English, can be found at : https://www.breatharian.eu/hw/et58/index_en.html I first have to make room in my office or storage. both are packed Best regards, Marc. |

J'en suis à une trentaine de pages sur 260 environ... Plus que 230 pages à faire avant d'attaquer la version anglaise ! Congratulations ! I think you will have finished the soldering before I had finish the manual. The French owner's manual is progressing slowly... I am at about thirty pages out of about 260... Only 230 pages to translate before starting the English version ! http://ti58c.phweb.me http://clones.phweb.me http://www.instagram.com/ti58c "No! Do or Do not. There is no try!" [Master Yoda] |

RE: TI-58C Clone
Hi Pierre,
I am ready soldering the ET-58, but I have to find out how to program the Atmega328p. I'm only familiar with pic microcontrollers, and Arduino ( also a 328p, but with a bootloader ). For now I've used an ic socket so I can reprogram the 328p. It only makes the distance from the top cover plate to the pcb greater, I'll have to find out if this is workable once I have a working 328p. I'll let you know if there's any progress. Regards, Marc. |
