HP 15 LE bugs and deficiencies?
Apologies for asking what has probably been asked before.

Is there a comprehensive list of the known deficiencies and/or bugs in the HP 15C Limited Edition (2011)?

Thank you.

There may have been more bugs found in the intervening years, but here's one source: https://www.hpmuseum.org/cgi-sys/cgiwrap...?read=1089

Yes, this reference gives the known 15c LE bugs.

From this reference:
Quote:I point out the above to hopefully aid in producing a new bug-free ROM by documenting all inconsistencies found with the current one.

It's interesting to compare the status of the issues with the 15c CE that is somehow the bug-free version of the LE (but not only, it's also an extended-memory version):

1. The PSE bug is solved.
2. The "Cx,y/Px,y" flashing display hasn't been observed on the 15c CE, but I'm now unable to reproduce it on my old 15c LE too.
4. The power consumption issue has been improved, according to several sources e.g. here.
6. The minor self test menu issue doesn't happen on the 15c CE.

The remaining issue 3 (old self test corrupts memory) and the four minor issues "7-10" (that are actually the same) are still present in the 15c CE.
I'm not sure about the issue 5 (unreliable low battery indicator) but I won't trust the indicator too much.

I can add that the 15c LE has two features that the 15c CE is missing:

- the 15c LE has the "HEWLETT-PACKARD" label,
- the 15c LE provides a small visual feedback at each keystroke. The 15c CE doesn't (see here).

Are we sure this was intended as a user interface feature on the original 15C? I thought it might serve to limit battery drain while the processor is crunching numbers.

The best calculator is the one you actually use.

Fairly certain. It doesn't save any significant power with the LCD display, and HP used similar methods in earlier calculators to provide visual feedback.
