New digital microscope and the 19C
Got an early Christmas present!

Will have to incorporate some new photos into the book. Auto focus and remote with picture taking and video capabilities (youtube videos quality).

Here is a set of photos:

1. The 19C in question, not all have the hp logo.

2. The microscope with the lighting off and the calculator on with zoom in.

3. The microscope with the lighting on and the calculator off with zoom in.

Thanks for these Geoff. That third picture is interesting - looks like there are two "hp decimal points" but only one of them is wired up. I wonder why the other was included?

RE: New digital microscope and the 19C
As usual at HP they would create something for many products.

The third photo shows the ability to show a colon. Maybe some of the uses for this display in other machines that were not created was for a time display such as the HP 01.

Hi Bruce, will get to a meeting in the new year. Say hi to everyone for me.

Cheers, Geoff

An aside, the HP 34C display (not good resolution as the LED protective red lens is very thick). I will be photo-documenting the LED displays for the book.

You can see hp logos here but none are wire bonded and I don’t think, even if they were there would be a use. Their position would only be good for a colon and the lower one is not co-commitment to the decimal.

Also the decimal is two small rectangular LEDs.

It looks like you also removed the front label of a HP48GX 512K RAM card (with rechargeable battery).
Was there anything interesting inside ?

Hah,

You noticed. It works now that I have replaced the rechargeable batterY. But this scope is incredible for seeing and working on the electronics.

Nothing too interesting as I was looking for corrosion and the usual suspects on rechargeable battery systems.

Cheers

Good eye!
