HP 82164A HPIL->RS232 Schematic
Is that available? I see that there is a battery powered converter in the want ads, and was pondering adding a battery to mine.
Upon reflection, though, it might be better to just create a battery powered 8 V AC inverter. |

The "82164A RS232 Interface Service Manual" includes a schematic. It's on a well-known HP41 site (whose URL gets replaced with asterisks if I try to include it here) or Erich Rechlin's HHC USB drive.

RE: HP 82164A HPIL->RS232 Schematic
Hi Keith,
i applied a simple 9V DC adapter to the AC Port, as the voltage from the AC HP-Adapter is rectified. This worked for charging my HPIL printer and using the RS232 interface. I also tried to power the system with 2 Life batteries in series. Works as well. Ralf /41/48/ |

it's not fun it's real :-)
You can use a DC converter 9V to power the Interface. This works for most stuff without mod. The only exception is when an interface needs + and - voltages. /41/48/ |
