Laportes website not available
To everybody,
The website of jaques laporte, which had valuable information about HP calculator hardware, software, history and algorithms is not longer available. http://www.jacques-laporte.org/ Does anybody know what happened? I really like to have this website back. It contained also an HP-25 java emulator with debugger. Do I have to rewrite my own HP-25 debugger now? RE: Laportes website not available
I've noticed it also. Let's hope it will be back soon.
In the meantime you can access a snapshot from last December on archive.org. |

Hope it's not gone for good. That would be a huge loss.

† We are very sad to learn that Jacques Laporte died suddenly on January 5, 2015, at his Paris home of a pulmonary embolism. He was 68 years old…

And it was always a great pleasure full of discoveries to read his articles when I was visiting his website. My deepest sympathy to his friends and relatives. RE: Laportes website not available
Hello,
Just a few words to add my feelings to yours ; I learned so much thanks to Mr. Laporte... no doubt his work will survive him, a genuine contribution to technical knowledge perpetuation. Above it all, my deepest thoughts go to his family and close relatives. (English isn't my native language, so please forgive any mistake) Marc |

Sorry to hear that. I enjoyed his website and the discussion about the CORDIC algorithms.

RE: Laportes website
Very sad news…
-------- Last year I downloaded Jacques Laporte's website for offline viewing. If will not be violation, I could share this archive for all members, and can anyone be able to recover this website in memory of its Founder... |

The issues come if you try to make money by displaying someone else's copyrighted content. It is good practice to also ask his family's permission to do so, however I would not wait for it since it can be presumed to be OK. Please do share it; I'm sure Jacques would have wished this community be able to see his work. --Bob Prosperi |

Oui, merci, I see. Seems I was lucky since I didn't observe such gaps on the pages I visited.
