MetaKernel, Alg 48, erable and printing HP 48SX/GX
First of all, I want to apologise for so basic questions more than 15 years in delay, very late to party, I know, but there's lot of fun in this party!
1- if I install metakernel I still be able to print with 82240a/b printer? (differents fonts, you know); 2-may I install erable or alg48 or speedUI in a slot 2 mem card? (Slot 1 mem card will be merged and will have MK); Thanks in advance JL |

If you have MK in slot 1 (the only possibility on a 48GX) the card must be unmerged & I believe locked.

Most of the other SpeedUI components also work from port 2-33 . Printing should be possible with any of the packages (MK, Alg, Erable) and works with SpeedUI, of course. -- Ray |

Yes, it's at least a good idea to put them on a second card, you wouldn't have much memory left if they're in port 0. You might just get both in port 0, my ALG4.2 is 50 kBytes & I don't use Erable.

I've been using 48's for a while and I am very fond to them, so I thought although very expensive, it's worth buying these cards to install those wonderfull library as speedUI. Cheers |

RE: MetaKernel, Alg 48, erable and printing HP 48SX/GX
The HP 48GX with MK was how I learned programming & it was a great experience. & expensive - the dedicated memory cards as well, the 1MByte card cost more than the calculator (if my memory serves me).
The 49G was then a cheaper dream come true, everything I wanted plus integer arithmetic. The 50g even better, quicker, SD card slot! If you have the money the 48GX etc is fun, my workhorse is the 50g. |
