New Version: 2015.06.17
Hello,
New versions should be up on the FTP now. Connectivity kit check for update will find them. If your network blocks direct connection, the direct link can be found at "ftp.hp.com/pub/calculators/Prime/". This is a maintenance release addressing some of the issues identified on this and other forums, and internally. Detailed release information for those interested: Quote:HP Prime – Release Notes Have fun! TW Although I work for HP, the views and opinions I post here are my own. |

Thanks Tim, I will test this soon! Congratulations for the increasing rhythm of updates. If only this would last for a long enough time, it would end up with a very nice calculator. Kind regards. |

RE: New Version: 2015.06.17
Thanks, Tim!
For the first time, no issues with updating through Windows 7 64-bit and USB. Also, complex matrices are editable again. Very appreciated. However, I tested the function "Define" feature (in Home). Again, even with this update, any function defined will disappear after a warm start "On-Symb." So what do you mean by "2. Resolved issues with the Define key and memory management view."? Seems like we still have a problem. Thanks for any clarification. |

Did you have a power cycle between then to write to disk? Basically, a minor memory leak which was corrected in the last version exposed a long standing issue with the defines which happened to be fine with that leak. RE: New Version: 2015.06.17
I'm not sure what you mean. Are you saying that this should not be an issue? Anything I can do to correct it?
As it stands now, on my Prime, I define a function through the "Define" key. It works as long as I don't press "on-symb." After that, poof! All definitions are gone. |

It works now!
I did test this repeatedly (defines gone) and now, the defines stay. What happened? Did you fix this telepathically? |

I noticed one of my games stopped working. I had a function called CURSOR. It appears to be a keyword now.
What does it do? I cannot find info on it. |

(06-24-2015 12:14 AM)Helge Gabert Wrote: It works now! What changed is that that you were not toggling power before, and now you are. As Tim implied, Defines (and most other changes made during your current session) are saved when you turn the power off and back on. On+Symb restores the most recently saved session. That's why pressing On+Symb destroys all the Defines you made IF you haven't toggled power, but does NOT destroy them if you toggle power first. Suggestion: Always save a "virtual backup" of your machine by toggling power off and back on before doing anything dangerous, because you can restore that "virtual backup" simply by pressing On+Symb. <0|ɸ|0> -Joe- |

Okay, got it! Thanks! (I actually did know that, but it must have slipped my mind, what with testing the new features . . .).

RE: New Version: 2015.06.17
I can not update the firmware to the latest version. Conn. Kit and Virt. Calc. download and install OK but when it comes to updating firmware it gives the message "No firmware to update" even though the new firmware is unzipped in Firmware dir for Conn. Kit. This is the first time I have this problem.
Now nothing is works. Con. Kit stopped updating in the middle and hanged up waiting for connection. I think it is problem with a USB driver but I checked in Win 8.1 Device Manager and there is no conflicts. I do not see any HP USP driver either. Calculator boots but stops on the way so it is nonoperational. C-F-O, ON+SYMB, pin reset did not work and calc hangs when booting. I removed the batteries and hope this helps. |

RE: New Version: 2015.06.17
It wasn't seamless but I finally got my firmware updated.
Setup: Win 7 64 bits in a Parallels 9 VM on OSX 10.8.5 Problems: The initial update failed with "Command error" on the calculator. I had some trouble getting it back into recovery mode. Neither a paper clip reset nor the C-F-O reset worked for me. Finally ON+Symb got me back to recovery mode and the Conn Kit was able to find and update the calculator. Possible cause: There are some delays when the USB device mode is being changed between Recovery Mode and normal HID mode. The VM needs to reconnect the USB port and inside the VM the drivers need to be installed before the update can proceed. it would be helpful if the Conn Kit gave on screen instructions to the user in case an update fails.
