I think there should be a help desk for flashing or adding rom images for the:
FRAM71 HP 41 CL WP34S Any thoughts? :-) |

Due to limited space in the meeting room, we'll have to set up in someone's (or several) hotel room; possibly in the "lunch room" when not lunching. I'll bring some 71's and 41's and a 34S. When we get there, we can organize and establish who will be doing what where, so we can centralize 41 ROM sharing, 71 FRAM setups, etc. I can bring 2 x 34S flashing cables so 2 folks can set-up flashing stations, to help folks load the latest f/w, or to experiment with some of the interesting recent branches. I will bring the latest copy of Diego's excellent ClonixConfig s/w and a programmer to easily load/update Clonix/NoV modules that folks bring. It's very quick and easy to load modules with tons of stuff. I will bring updated copies of all of Angel's amazing collection of modules. I can also display a bunch of the excellent new overlays that Michael Fehlhammer sells. The same space limitations will also prevent much trading in the meeting room itself, but we can designate an area in the room where folks can post their trade/want lists (forms available on Joe's HHC website on the Trading Corner page). HHC is going to be a blast! --Bob Prosperi |

RE: HHC2015 help desk suggestion
What we should try to do, which will be more difficult, is to go ahead and have the 41CL roms copied to flash. I hate it when batteries run down and ram pages go poof.
We are thinking of having the door prize table(s) in the other meeting room, so that should give us more space. Some of the committee members remember fondly the tight quarters in previous conferences. We will see. :-) |

Poo, you're really making it sound like fun, and I can't go.
Do you give acknowledgement for whoever brings the largest # of the same HP calculator? Largest # of different ones ?? I would love to see a picture of the variants of the HP41; all the nuts, blank included, tall keys, and some 'hybrid' repair jobs, (a tall keys CX?) and maybe a 41 plugged into 4 AME Port Extenders. 2speed HP41CX,int2XMEM+ZEN, HPIL+DEVEL, HPIL+X/IO, I/R, 82143, 82163, 82162 -25,35,45,55,65,67,70,80 |

Typical prizes are for best speaker, and similar things related to events that take place as part of the HHC . And traveling long distances, I suspect most folks would not want to risk shipping/carrying large sets of valuable collectibles, but it would be cool to see photos of these type things. Somewhere (yeah, I know that's not too helpful) I have seen a nice photo of all the 41 variants, but never 4 Port Extenders. Surely that breaks some basic laws of physics... or at least of common sense. --Bob Prosperi |

You will find here most HP-41 variant and pictures of 2 AME Port-X-Tender daisy chained. Sylvain |

RE: HHC2015 help desk suggestion
TASP, it has been done:
I brought 40 restored calcs to the Corvallis meet in 2008 as it was driving distance from Vancouver. Crossing customs was fun as I needed preapproval on the calcs to get across the border. The agent, not knowing how many I had handed me some forms; one per calculator. I looked at them then asked him to look in the car. He took the forms away and handed me a note saying he checked all 40 and preapporved them for a return trip home. 2009 was the 30th anniversary of the 41 and there was a plethora of HPIL and 41c periphenalia set up. Included was an HPIL LOOP with disc drive, cassette drive, and other accessories. Yes the meets are full of calculator 'porn'. So for the help desk I will bring - a spare WP34S cable and a blank 30b with crystal and or preinstalled for flashing demonstration. It will then go to the prize desk. - a blank FRAM71 as I need help and why not eh? - a NovoRam and two CLs that need upgrade to latest ROM. - a 25e and 29eIR For talk and demo. Plus a 25c to convert to a 25eIR (live demo?) Cheers, Geoff |
