Wanted: HP-46 or 81 Printer
I have a bad plastic gear in my unit. Renders the printer unusable. Sad

Also used in:
Monroe 1330
Compucorp Model 325
Shinshu Seiki type 102
Epson model 102

May need to make one from scratch.

RE: Wanted: HP-46 or 81 Printer
Please let me know if you find anything.

I assume the gear for the EP-102 is module 0.4 with 17/68 teeth, 3mm bore, 7mm total thickness, large outger gear 3mm thick.

I'm contemplating getting two separate gears (spur gears w/o hub) and epoxying them together. However, the smallest bore that I've located for the larger gear is 4mm. Can't seem to find a 4mm OD/3mm ID bushing.

thanks

** i.e. if you find a gear source that is. (unless you find a surplus pile of EP-102 printers!)

I know a german seller who might be able to help you guys out. He sells gears and small metal bushings to put together two gears into one double-gear. Example:

Use this gear:

With this gear:
http://www.steingraeber-modelle.de/Zahnr...01217_4208
And this bushing:
http://www.steingraeber-modelle.de/Einst...01303_4210

To make a double gear with 17/68 teeth, module 0.5 for the inner, 0.4 for the outer gear, 6.5mm total thickness, 3mm bore. If you have a source for the gears alone, you might ask them for the bushings only.

At the bottom of the site there is a link to the english version - i dont know where they ship though (and where you are located).

Thank you for the info. The bushing appears to "fill the bill"! Maybe require minor filing (length), but no big deal. A module 0.5 likely will not "mesh" with a 0.4 gear. The 17-tooth gear undoubtedly turns another mod 0.4 gear (drum axle). Mis-matches typically "chew" each other up.

That being said I'll remeasure all the gears to make sure I haven't messed up. None the less, thank you for the bushing post, it appears to be what I need.

-- thank you.

Sure! You also might just email them and ask for a 17/0.4 gear. maybe they have something like that too. Alternatively, without having seen the inners of your printer, you might be able to replace the gear which is connected to the 17-gear by another new gear, which then also has mod 0.5 - that would need one more replacement step, but would bring you a new gear which will then hopefully live longer than replacing only one of the two cennected gears. I dont know if that is possible though.
