I can't afford a HP-19C so I bought this instead
The canon FP-11P !
Beside the HP-19C, it is the only other scientific, programable, pocket calculator with embedded printer in the world! (if I exclude some pocket basic computers, not the same as calculator in my mind) It is nowhere as good as the HP-19C as it only have 45 partly merged steps, 7 memories and other serious limitations. It is a printing version of the FP-73P. But its big advantage is the cost: 10 bucks on Ebay! I was lucky as they don't come about very often. It is in good condition but the printer, while printing clear characters have a tendency to stick at the end of the print line and thus print all remaining digits ion top of each other. I will open it and try to fix the printer. When I do so, I will post pictures of the calculator guts. Meanwhile, here is a picture taken from google: Is there anybody with experience servicing this calculator ? François |

No to your question, but would the printer mechanism fit in a card reader housing ??

I just can't get an HP41 card reader housing with a printer in it out of my mind.
As for the opening post, hope just cleaning it out is all it takes to get it working right. Maybe a little grease, and checking for any material deterioration issues . . . . 2speed HP41CX,int2XMEM+ZEN, HPIL+DEVEL, HPIL+X/IO, I/R, 82143, 82163, 82162 -25,35,45,55,65,67,70,80 |

That brings back the vivid memory of the announcement of the 19C and sincerely hoping that this calculator contained a built-in card reader like the 65/67. No such luck, unfortunately. Jake |

lol, bad enough I covet an HP41 accessory never made, and you suggest a better one.
A card reader housing with a printer in it, that still can read cards !!! OMG !!!! I gotta get me a 3D printer . . . . 2speed HP41CX,int2XMEM+ZEN, HPIL+DEVEL, HPIL+X/IO, I/R, 82143, 82163, 82162 -25,35,45,55,65,67,70,80 |

Perhaps if they had gone back, following the introduction of the 75C, and redid the 41 card reader to be a hand-pulled version, the removal of the motor might have left room for some other goodies :-) I suppose hand-pulling cards as short as those would be impractical. The coolness factor of having a motor is significant too.
