integration methods on HP-65 Math Pac I/II
I'm giving a talk in a few weeks about numeric integration methods currently used on calculators and I thought it would be nice to touch on the history a bit.
I'm curious whether the methods on the HP 65 Math Pacs (I? or II?) used Simpson's Rule (like the 41C Math Pac) or Romberg (like the 34C and 41C Advantage Pac). I'm guessing it would be Simpson's, but I thought someone here could give me a definitive word on it. Thanks, -Wes L |

RE: integration methods on HP-65 Math Pac I/II
A quick scan of the Software Manuals for the HP-65 Math Pacs (I and II) indicates that Math Pac I includes Trapezoidal Rule as well as Simpson's Rule and Math Pac II includes a method using the six point Gauss-Legendre quadrature formula.
These (and many other manuals) are on the Museum DVD v.7. Jeff Kearns |
