There is no minor difference... there is no difference.

Also, in the future the hardware calculator will most likely be trailing the software only versions. It will be very likely the apps will receive more regular updates for example due to the ease at updating them, and the hardware less frequently. I wouldn't be surprised to see that being the new norm.

RE: New Version 2016 10 17. Rev:10638
Looks like the updated virtual calculator came with an updated User Guide. Not sure what is different. I did notice that invztrans() is still not documented in the User Guide (yes I know it's in the virtual calculator help file for more than a year). Not sure what's updated in the User Guide...

I'm not sure I understand. Why is it easier (for HP) to update the apps than to update the firmware files for the hardware calculator?

Tim makes reference to the virtual calculator apps, not the "prime apps". It is easier of course because no hardware stuff...

In a future release of the iOS/Andriod apps, please consider those of us that are left handed and give us an option, when in landscape mode, to swap the keyboard so that it is on the left.

If I were a certain, very demanding poster, this is where I would insert a huge image of what was envisioned. In my case, I'm sure you don't need the visual aide. ;-)

Thanks,

It's easier for me to update an Android app on my phone than to download a new firmware file and update my calculator, but I don't see why it should be easier from HPs end. Given the wide range of hardware runnng different Android versions that exists today I would have expected that providing new firmware for the calculator would be more straightforward than making significant changes to the Android app, rather than the other way around.

It's about time the mobile apps get some attention, though.

Yes, that makes sense. I expect that schools use the hardware calculator and so less frequent updates are good for them. Perhaps the mobile apps will provide an opportunity for more beta testing before a firmware update?

Today I finally installed it on my brand new Surface Book and both run without any problems.

On Surface if you choose a larger font size, the VC display will not show the bottom row of keys. It seem that picking a larger font size like 250, also enlarges the calculator size.

Try with

And also using the "Large skin" otherwise it is too tiny (but much sharper!)

RE: New Version 2016 10 17. Rev:10638
I should have been more explicit. I wanted to refer to Surface Pro 4, windows 10'
It seems the Properties does not include the category "Compatibility". I tried 'right click' the 'file folder HP Prime VC in the Program File (x86) folder, then
Properties and the categories are

General Sharing Security Previous Versions Customize.

There is no category for 'Compatibility, unless I'm looking in the wrong place.

Thanks

re; Surface Pro 4 Windows 10 VC Compatibility.
That worked just fine. But who would have thought of looking in the short cut?

I was also successful in downloading and installing the CK and VC from the links provided by eried in Post 17 on page 1. I did not have to uninstall CK & VC first.

Thanks again eried
