This integral crashes by Virtual prime...
In regular mode...Integrate E^(x^3) from 0 to 6...It crashes my HP Prime Virtual...Mathematica gives a large Complex result...Does it crash your Virtual prime?, want to make sure my Virtual is working like it should...

My virtual Prime returns the same result as my hardware Prime, in terms of Gamma(x,y). I assume you meant e^(x^3), not E^(x^3), since they don't mean the same thing at all.
The CAS in early firmware versions was unable to simplify the input expression. Which version of the virtual Prime are you using? Is it up to date? <0|ɸ|0> -Joe- |

What about Shift Enter (Approx), works even after calculating the integral with That Gamma-expresseions)

On my physical Prime it returns a gamma function and also aproximate value: 5.96393809188E91. All in CAS mode.

I believe he is talking about this, in home mode:
∫(e^X^3,X,0,5.99999) returns 5.95752047786ᴇ91 ∫(e^X^3,X,0,6.00001) returns 5.97036264066ᴇ91 but ∫(e^X^3,X,0,6.0000) crashes the calculator That's in all platforms, app, handheld, virtual. This has been discussed here before but I can't find it now. -road |

That also applies to numbers 4 and 5; but strangely, not for 1, 2, or 3??!?!?! I didn't try for anything higher than 6.

With CAS, whats interesting is if I use 6 as the integral upper limit, it gives me a message that says that it's giving me both exact and approximate values as it got an error checking them against one another.
Then when I hit enter again, it gives me the gamma result and the numeric displayed like this: [(gamma stuff) 5.96...E91] However, if I use 6. (with the decimal point), it gives me just the numeric solution 5.96...E91 Then when I switch to home mode, I get an error. I have to change x to X, and when I do that, I get a weird answer of :00.000.?>: What does this answer mean? Finally, when in home mode if I do approx(place the integral here), I get the weird answer above, followed by the correct numeric answer like this: [:00.000.?>: 5.96...E91] What do square braces mean again? Is it an array? Thx -Donald |
