Summation Bug? FW 2017 07 10 (12066)
Hi Everyone,
Today I entered a summation in CAS / Textbook Mode using an upper-case 'X' as the variable instead of the lower-case 'x' that CAS prefers. When I hit enter to evaluate it, the calculator crashed and rebooted itself. I would love if someone could please check and see if this is just my calculator that has an issue or if it's a more general bug. I have the Rev C hardware in case that matters. :-) -- In CAS textbook mode, try entering a summation of (1/X^2) with an index of 1 going to infinity. Use an upper-case X as the variable in the expression (ANY upper-case variable causes this for me). When I hit enter to evaluate this, my calculator screen goes black, then reboots. Even if I'm doing something that isn't 'allowed' or 'correct' by the calculator's nomenclature, it surely should never simply crash like that, should it? Can anyone else reproduce this? I did a full factory reset from the diagnostic menu and still find the same behavior. Thanks in advance, Eric |

Fixed in source code.
There was an infinite loop trying to purge X in a residue computation. |
