HP Prime will not turn off for more than 2 seconds.
I bought the HP Prime about 1 week ago. I have used it daily. I have worked with it and shut it down many times. Today I did a factory reset using CFO and reset on back, format and reset option. Everything seemed to work great. Calculator is working fine. Until I noticed:

I shut it down and it came back on within 2 seconds.
I let it sit until it dimmed, then it shut down on its own, then came back on within 2 seconds.

This is definitely odd behavior. Has anyone here had this issue? What should I do?

Have you tried the pin hole reset?

Maybe there is some kind of foreign matter stuck in the on key. In which case it may be a warranty issue, and you might contact hp support for guidance.

If your Prime is a G2, then it's a known bug in some firmware versions. This "Won't Stay Off" mode can be intentionally started by unplugging the USB cable (if any) and then exiting the C+F+O diagnostic screen by pressing 9.

There are several ways to revive your G2's ability to turn off normally:

Method #1: Enter Coma Mode (hold down Shift, then press and hold On for one second, then release both), then power back up.

Method #2: Exit C+F+O diagnostic screen by pressing the C key (not the 9 key as usual).

Method #3: With Prime plugged into a powered USB cable, turn Prime off and back on, twice.

Method #3 is hilarious! Big Grin

I had to check the calendar to be sure it wasn't April 1st...

Is it really twice or will any even number do?

Strange but true. Twice returns Prime to normal, so any subsequent power cycling has no effect on that bug.
