Those who criticize must also be able to praise. The go41cx 1.90 is a real step forward. Not only is it much more usable, it is also fun.

RE: New releases
New versions of go41x and go27s installed and working fine, thank you Olivier! It's nice to see you're back in action, but also good to know the issues that kept you away seem to have been resolved. Vincent has a done a truly great job at both defending your honor and helping out folks having trouble/questions on your goxx apps. Seems like a really good friend, we certainly appreciate his sincerity, time and assistance.

Thanks for these kind words, much appreciated.
Yes Olivier is back, go41cx is gorgeous now, and he has written a new Saturn engine, the Pioneers are now perfect with no timer problem, so he won't stop there, stay tuned Smile

RE: New releases
One small thing: I installed the new go42s on my tablet too and there the icon does not show (Galaxy Tab A6, Android 7). It shows a generic Android icon (green robot). It works OK.

RE: New releases
Note currently the only Android app available from Olivier De Smet, that I can see appears to be go41cx. He still lists his other "go" Android apps on his HP related projects site but I can only see go41cx on the Google Play Store.

I have already noticed that. I just hope Olivier will upload them again, because I have bought a few of his apps and now, none of them are available.

Aggravating. I just moved to a new phone, and none of the go??? apps I purchased moved to the new phone. DANG.

If you still have your old phone, you can copy the APK files to a computer using ADB, even in a non-rooted phone.

RE: New releases
Many apps got removed by Google because their developers didn't update the target SDK version.

Thanks for the suggestion; totally slipped my mind to look for the cached apks. D'oh! Took a bit of doing to extract the locations and package names, but I finally go it done. The 48g and 48s apks wouldn't install (they were SDK version 8! and the phone wanted >= version 23) but everything else is working. Yay!

Yes, these tricks, and also things like removing features from "up"grades (does not apply in the case of the goXX apps, although I sometimes had to downgrade during the last development iteration some years ago), made me store apk's and other installers, and multiple versions of them, locally.

I started doing that when sone developer removed .gif functionality from a C++ library because Compuserve claimed copyrights on it (that was quite some time ago) and he also made sure all old versions of the lib were overwritten by the new version.

If someone needs an apk of one of the goXX apps you can mail me, I have most I think (but not all).
