How to do limits on HP prime?
I don't understand how to take a limit. The help menu doesn't really explain it because all the examples are with a simple limit() function but when I try to do it myself I get the template version and no matter what I try it just tells me bad argument

Do you have an example of the limit you're trying to take?

Use of the limit command is explained on p.401 in the Prime manual. Have you checked that out yet? Also, the built-in help system is very good, search it for the topic you are looking for, in this case, limit.

Try going to settings (shift/home) and change the entry method from textbook to algebraic.

RE: How to do limits on HP prime?
Limits are best evaluated on the CAS screen. If you use the limit form in the template key menu, it will insert a blank limit form directly into the CAS entry line and you can fill in the blanks.

RE: How to do limits on HP prime?
I had the same issue then realized I needed to be in CAS mode to properly fill out the template and for it to not say there was some error when trying to commit it to the stack. However, it's a bit odd for the simple limit below that it then complains that you need to be in radians angle mode to evaluate. 2021-12-02 SW. First two attempts were not in radian angle mode, last was.

In general, you should use radians mode when in CAS; see:
