Yes, it was very helpful for the work Tony and I did on the replacement board for the classic calculators.
I based the interface to the original display drivers on Jacques work. Very sad he isn't around to see them results anymore. |

I worked closely with Jacques on reverse-engineering the instruction set of the HP-67/97 CRC (Card Reader Controller) chip. His work on documenting the algorithms of the HP-35 was excellent. From other sources we already knew on a rudimentary level how the HP-35 worked, but he uncovered and documented all of the details. I miss him very much.

Jacques Laporte's website was an inspiration and an invaluable source of knowledge for my HP-35 reverse engineering presentation at Hackaday's Remoticon 2021. In fact, everyone who replied above me in this thread falls into that category.
