Not just you. The exact same thing happens on my Rev C. Can't add any programs or even look at anything via the Conn Kit before it crashes the calculator and it restarts.

I had the same problem with my Rev C. Rev D was working out of the box after the update.
I solved the problem with the C-F-O-Reset (while the prime is off, press keys C,F and O and hold them. Then turn it on and release C/F/O if you are in the diagnostic menue). Then choose "4 FLS Utility" and after that "3 Format Disk C". After formatting and reset you have an empty prime but still the new firmware. Then I connected it to CK and I started to copy my programs and I could open the tree in CK again.

Hope this works for you too!

Best regards
Frank

Yes, it works to get it cleared, and it won't go into boot loop when the Programs tab is accessed.

Now try doing a backup, even without making any changes to the calculator after clearing it. Restore that backup. Click on the HP Prime tab to open it - straight into boot loop.

RE: New HP Prime update 2.1.14730
Everything went smoothly for me. Updated from the last release build without any issues.

And what a nice surprise it was to come across a new release under the new management. Let's hope it's the first of many. Smile

@^#*&!!

They obviously have work to do.

My top three things I'd like to see:

  1. Fix Python
  2. Allow monospaced font in Terminal
  3. Allow printing to physical printer from calculator, CK or both

Arghh, you're right! And much better: You even don't need a backup and restore.
Today I connected my HW C Prime again to CK and it's done a boot loop without doing anything - no backup no restore and no other program copied since last time.
Have to wait longer before posting!
Sorry.

RE: New HP Prime update 2.1.14730
Unfortunately the mentioned boot loop for older hardware is an known problem,
see e.g. https://www.hpmuseum.org/forum/thread-18122.html
and also this thread:
https://www.hpmuseum.org/forum/thread-18103.html
"The calculator restarts repeatedly after the connection kit is connected to the calcu"

A year ago, there had been the same suggestions for imho "dirty" work-arounds,
without satisfying results.
See post 15 ff from the first link.
https://www.hpmuseum.org/forum/thread-18...#pid158282
There had also been discussions, if the case will be considered as enhancement, or as defect.

Possibly the topic could be looked at a little more intensively on the part of Moravia.

Just successfully updated my Rev C calculator. Everything worked fine on a Windows 11 computer. Failed yesterday on a Windows 10 computer.

It's great to see that the Prime is still receiving support and software updates! Just one question: will the Mac version run on Apple Silicon systems (M1/M2) natively?. Thank you.

RE: New HP Prime update 2.1.14730
Hi all,

I recently bought a HP Prime G2 Rev D calculator. Is this update stable for my calculator? if so where can i download it?
i'm new to this world and i don't know how to possibly update my calculator. I can recover a machine with windows 10 if needed.

Thank you so much, I hope someone is kind enough to help me. Smile
