Vou may get the Connectivity Kit from https://www.hpcalc.org/details/8938 and install it, then connect your calculator.

RE: New HP Prime update 2.1.14730
I just noticed that in the home view, if the textbook input method is selected, there are two new soft buttons Save and Load, I read about them in the help of the calculator. Question - are these functions possible in the RPN entry variant?

What about the stability on that model? I have read about boot loops and several errors.. like the loss of the touchscreen

I haven't noticed. I updated G2 calculator on Windows 10 PC without any problems. I had a problem with the G1 calculator, it does not work with CK on W10 PC, it works on W11 PC.

Okay, when the calculator arrives I will try to see instructions to update it via the .img file.

I recently bought a HP Prime G2 Rev D calculator. Is this update stable for my calculator? if so where can i download it?
i'm new to this world and i don't know how to possibly update my calculator. I can recover a machine with windows 10 if needed.

Thank you so much, I hope someone is kind enough to help me. Smile

Yes, it is reported safe and a good improvement for G2 machines.

To update the firmware:

1. Got to the link in the top post in this thread
2. Download and install the ConnKit for your PC type (Win-10/11 or Mac)
3. Connect your Prime
4. The CK should offer to download and install the latest f/w, let it do so. As part of the process, it will offer to backup your Prime - if you have stuff you don't want to risk losing, do the backup.

You should be all set. Please report your results once you've had a chance to try it.

The Save and Load do not appear to be available in RPN mode. You can accomplish something similar by Shift-Up Arrow, then tap the Stack menu and select ->List. This will create a list which you can then save like another other object. The tricky part is restoring the list to the stack. Someone recently posted such a solution. See https://www.hpmuseum.org/forum/thread-19...#pid169782

Just a word of warning on the Textbook/Algebraic Save and Load options. It's a great idea, but I have found these options to be unstable, even with the recent firmware. They don't always work correctly and frequently cause reboots. Use with caution.

I'd add that RPN mode on the Prime is severly crippled, so it's best avoided.

But in reality, it's algebraic toolset works so well, you soon learn to live without RPN on the Prime. I couln't live without RPN on my 50g but with the Prime I rarely consider it's MIA satus. Smile

I will not say so. It's good to have RPN mode on Prime.
True, you should not use Prime as the RPN only calculator, it is not intended for that.

RE: New HP Prime update 2.1.14730
CK and HP Prime G1 calculator (HW version A, CAS v. 1.5.0 & OS v. V0.050.640) updated to the latest version 22.1.14730 (023 04 13). The CK sees G1 calculator connected via USB cable. When I click on calculator name in CK to display all calc. items, the calculator reboots immediately. The same response on W10 and W11; Firewall disabled. No such issue with updated PC HP Prime or Android HP Prime Pro (2.1.14594 (2021 05 14)). Hope next SW release fix this issue (connectivity to HP Prime G1, HW v. A under W10 & W11) soon. Thank you.

My notes say:

• app/zip may be dragged onto the calculator, or to the applications folder

• same for an hpappdir directory/folder

• an hpprgm file may be dragged to the Programs directory/folder

not sure if that help…

Hi! so i think i have a problem.

I installed some programs and applications, so far so good. but if I leave the calculator off for a few days, the calculator has nothing installed when it starts up!
the calculator has the basic programs and the system settings too, but no trace of the applications that i installed on my own. Is it intentional or is it a mistake?

Nice to hear some will be getting an update.

Will that new update reinstate the HP Prime App on Android that is currently missing from Google Play (except on old Androids)?

I surely hope that we will receive an update for the Android Pro app soon. Would be interested to see how Python works on this platform, and some of the other "new" features, which are not yet present on the latest version.

For me, it does not seem to be missing in the store for a recent Android device. I have a Pixel 7 with latest Android 13 monthly update, and it is showing in PlayStore for me when searching for "HP Prime". Maybe they have set a strange list of device specifications or devices, so it is not showing up for you.
