I expect the differences in GWBASIC for the HP 110/Portable Plus versions in the area of graphics (SCREEN ..., LINE (x,y)-(x,y)). While the text mode can be controlled sufficiently well with identical HP escape sequences, fast graphics commands would preferable use direct access to the graphics RAM. And here, the two portables are very different. Martin |

RE: PILBox with HPPortablePlus
Concerning the Microsoft Word files which I had converted from the HP-Museums's TD0 image:
I copied them to a disk and started WORD.COM. The program is indeed for the HP 150 and works well on this system. Different versions are required for the HP 110 and the Portable Plus (Microsoft Word 45474D [HP110] resp. Microsoft Word 45549K Opt. 004 (2 ROMs) [Portable Plus]). Maybe someone has the complete original diskette set (2 discs: Master and Utilities) or the ROM? This word version already provides the limited WYSIWYG capabilities of later Word versions, displaying bold, italic, underlined or small caps characters. Some things like sub- and superscripts are only simulated by highlighting. Compared to Wordstar this was an advantage at the time. And, of course, we have touchscreen support (for the function keys). The disk image is missing printer drivers and style sheets. But the HP Museum also has the Word "Utility" disk, which contains more style sheets and printer drivers. Including these: Code:
One can also build his own *.PRD driver by using the CONVPRD program supplied with Word. Martin [attachment=13248] [attachment=13249] |
