It should work correctly now...

I can confirm that it does! I've just one more question: The emulator does not store the status of the printer switches upon exit. Can that be implemented?

Yes, inside EU, Czech Republic, postage should be OK.

New version uploaded ...

Printing to the real printer is now implemented ... Press "WinPrint" button (printer dialog will pop up), choose printer, print as usual, press "WinPrint" again and all accumulated printer output will be sent to the printer.

RE: TI-59 Emulator
If anyone wants to develop another TI-59 emulator, the ROM is here:

http://hsl.wz.cz/files/ti58_rom.zip

Don't worry about "58", ROMs are the same.

RE: TI-59 Emulator
Hi Oliver,

I've just installed go59c on my ThinkPad tablet with Android 4.0.3. The folder /mnt/sdcard/go59c contains just the subfolders but no modules or packs. What am I missing? None of the promised modules is present.

The modules and packs are not not installed as part of the .apk. They must be downloaded from https://sites.google.com/site/olivier2sm...ects/go59c
and manually copied to the correct directories.

Olivier,

Thank you for the wonderful Android emulator. Also thanks to Hynek Sladky and HrastProgrammer for making the ROM image available.

Could I please make an enhancement request? In landscape mode, it would be helpful to have a "Look" option that toggles "Left Printer" and "Left 59c". This would work just like the Look options in the go41cxt emulator. This would be very helpful for those of us that are left-handed.

RE: TI-59 Emulator
This thread brings back pleasant memories as in 1975, my first calculator was a SR-51.

Quick progress report: I use Linux, and the TI-59 Emulator works perfectly under wine.

RE: TI-59 Emulator
Hi Mark,

A new release of go59c should be available in a few hours in google play with a 'left' option.
Be careful to save your memory on some cards as the new release will wipe your memory.
Please also delete old 'states' saved in your device, the format of this file has changed.

RE: TI-59 Emulator
Hi,

Some bugs exists in go59c about the cards packs (not always saved ...)
I will look at that on the next release of the app.

Just some teasing about a coming go59c+ mode:
- 300 registers (0-150: for user program, the rest for user memories)
- up to 1200 steps (step beyond 999 only reachable by named labels)
- memories over 99 only accessible by IND
- cards support 10 parts (30 regs per side, so 5 cards to save whole calc)
- n OP 17 behavior change from 10*n user registers to 80*n program steps (it was easier to patch this way, with n up to 15)

all made by rewriting some code in the rom (des assembling then re assembling)

Later perhaps a go59c++ with 1000 registers with new OP xx codes

By the way, the TI SR 60 (A) is based on the same technology ....
Could someone help people to dump the roms of this strange beast ???
(in fact the ti59 is a reduced sr60)

I've a few remarks concerning go59c on a phone, in particular my Sony Xperia U running CyanogenMod 4.2.2.
  1. The data folder is not /sdcard/go59c but a lengthy path below /sdcard/Android/data
  2. I miss a portrait mode that shows only one third of the complete screen (printer, cards, calculator) at a time. In landscape mode the legends are too tiny to be deciphered.

On my Andriod tablet (rooted Kindle Fire), the "Rotate" menu option toggles between landscape and portrait orientations. In portrait mode, a full sized printer screen is selected by tapping the display. The full sized card reader and pack management screen is accessed by tapping the card area just below the display.

Thanks for the pointer! As I said before, I missed the portrait mode. It might be a better idea to switch the mode on behalf of the motion sensor instead of a menu selection.

RE: TI-59 Emulator
- The lengthly path is a google diktat, an app can not write outside this path since android 4.4 (kitkat). For pre kitkat, the path is /sdram/go59c/ as usual. So your cyanogen rom identifies itself as kitkat, sorry

- For the rotate, I prefer locked orientation, otherwise it can change without reason. I will look to add a setting about this behavior.

- I did not have time to write a manual, sorry.

- You can experiment with the module compiler:
- up to 9999 steps (even a real ti should be able to do that, it is only a limitation FROM the module, not the calc)
- it accept "local" labels (_xxx) removed at compile time with step number everywhere
- it accept hex code to try strange behavior (0x0C) but you need to move the prgm back to memory with OP09 so the hex code should be at a modulo 8 step to survive the transfert. Be carefull R/S is skipped (by the rom) when executed from a module, only RTN can finish a prgm executed from the module (pgm xx sbr yy)

- The 59+ mode allow more memory and should be ok even with matrix module program see link
