HP71B module database
You shurly know the HP-41 module database. Now it's time to start a second database, for the HP-71B, as promissed.
Before I start with my new project I would like to know what sort of informations do you would like to be included in the database. I would like to build it in the same manner as for the HP-41, a pdf spreadsheet. please let me know the "column titles" I should include. By-the-way: I'm thinking about publishing the databases in another format than .pdf. I would prefer a real database like I use with access - with the possibility to search, filter, .... but it has to be used by all surfaces: Win, OS X, IOs and Android. Any suggestions? |

RE: HP71B module database
Consider that Sylvain's 71B article started as a module database.
I would like to see you and Sylvain pool resources and create a 71B webpage where all of the documents and ROM images could be organized and downloaded. Dave |

RE: HP71B module database
In fact I now Sylvain's /1B article and I really enjoy it. Thanks for this well-founded work.
My database would be more a overview of all existing modules. The detailed informations I would like to pass to Sylvain, as he seems to be more the guy for this. Certainly I would like to join with Sylvain for this project. |

In addition to the ROM's on your website and those in Sylvain's articles, I've found references to the following ROM's: Fire Danger USA REV 0 M114A1 1 OF 2 USA REV 0 M114A1 2 OF 2 USA, Rev 0, M109A2A3, M198 1 of 2 USA, Rev 0, M109A2A3, M198 2 of 2 USA, Rev 0, M110A2, 1 of 2 USA, Rev 0, M110A2, 2 of 2 USA REV 0 LANCE 1 OF 2 USA REV 0 LANCE 2 OF 2 DDCT for Datum-to-Datum Coordinate Transformation and here on eBay. 82494 REV 0 SURVEY 1 of 1 SINGAPORE I believe all of the "USA" modules belong to the US Army BackUp Computer System (BUCS) as does the DDCT (and here) module. Hello Matthias, I just posted an updated version of the 71B Compendium article, take what you need for your database. Now that the PDF version is out, I am now able to add more data, any informations you want to share, I will gladly take it. I still have a serious backlog of informations to enter in the article, so, for the coming weeks, I will publish an update once or twice a week. Best regards, Sylvain |

RE: HP71B module database
I just started with the HP modules itself. Is that the way you like it or what column do I have to add?
Please feel free for corrections, especially numbers of key overlays. |

Hello Matthias, Here are some corrections and/or suggestions: 1) You should put a HP-71B image at the top right 2) HHP Card Reader EPROM modules also support 32KB 3) I may be wrong but I think the Forth/Assembler ROM Debugger Upgrade (HP-82478A) was delivered on floppy disk 4) Missing: HP-00071-90097 Software Developers' Handbook (I think there was a possibility to order it either on tape or on magnetic cards) 5) CMT also sold OTP (one-time programmable) modules for the HP-71 6) "CAT Output" should be replaced with "VER$ Output or Result", look at the HP-71B Compendium for the VER$ values 7) I am readying an new update with additional softwares delivered as ROM modules or on media not showing on your list Best regards, Sylvain |

And the labels used by EduCalc generally looked as official as those supplied on original media by HP, so it's hard today to tell which ones were the "original" media type. Likely only of interest to 'hard core' collectors, which I happen to know both of you are. --Bob Prosperi |

So, are there two or three different versions? - Forth Assembler (I do not have a box labeled only with the Assembler) - Forth Assember with debugger (I have boxed, so it exists like this) - Debugger Upgrade (I have boxed, so it exists like this) 4) Right, added... also the Solution books are not implemented yet. 5) How can I see the difference between the CMT modules and the OTP (I guess the OTPs dont have a "window". Do you have pictures? 6) Ver$ is chosen, thanks 7) ok, but my collection is not the same size as Hp-41 modules |
